Delivery service provider NeighborFavor Inc., which operates the Favor app, has enlisted Keith Duncan as senior vice president of sales and business development.
The Austin company disclosed Wednesday that Duncan was previously RetailMeNot Inc.’s (Nasdaq: SALE) vice president of sales for more than three years. Before that, he was senior vice president of performance sales for the New York-based Epic Media Group Inc., according to his online profile.
NeighborFavor, which launched in 2011, began operating locally in mid-2013 and employs 36 workers. The Favor mobile app enables users to order items from just about any shop or restaurant on a smartphone. Users pay after orders are delivered and pay at least an extra $7 per trip, which includes a $5 delivery fee plus a $2 minimum tip.
In March, the company reported raising $11.6 million of a planned $12.8 million Series A round of financing involving 23 investors, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The startup indicated that investors included S3 Ventures and Silverton Partners, two Austin-based venture capital firms.
In September 2014, NeighborFavor reported receiving a $2 million seed financing.
